Actor Deep Sidhu is waiting eagerly for the Independence Day weekend. His debut film ‘Ramta Jogi’ is releasing on August 14 under the big production house Vijayta Films. With the Deol family’s support, this model turned actor can’t ask for more.
Friends India Entertainment led by Vikas Paul brought actors Deep Sidhu and Bobby Deol to Australia for the promotion of ‘Ramta Jogi’. Hailing from Muktsar in Punjab, actor Deep Sidhu is not only a model but a lawyer and a national level sportsperson.
Deep Sidhu was not walking on the path of acting when he got his first role. He has bagged top titles through Grasim Mr India, Kingfisher Modelhunt and walked the ramp for designers Rohit Bal and Hemant Trivedi. “I somehow never enjoyed modelling. I have studied and practiced law but always felt I’m here to act” tells Deep.
“Ramta Jogi is my first film where I play the role of a motorcycle mechanic. I’m fortunate to get the backing of the Deol family, the first Punjabi family of Bollywood. I’m quite excited. We all have worked very hard towards this film. Being the main actor, I feel a sense of responsibility and don’t want to let the team down,” says a humble Deep.
“I was studying in Pune (10 years ago) and Kedar Sundernath wanted to do an advertisement which required someone to play Sunny Deol’s younger brother. They selected me, we shot on a tractor and bonded. I met Sunny Deol after six years and he remembered me. Rest is history, I now feel like a more experienced person,” says Deep.
Did he face lots of challenges as a newcomer? “It’s quite a different journey when you are a newcomer but nothing is impossible. God is there to look after me and I’m really thankful to Bobby and Sunny Deol,” confides Deep. With God’s grace, Deep is already looking forward to his next film which is based on the Elvis of North India.
On a closing note, Deep requests everyone to watch the film in the cinemas. “Ramta Jogi is a romantic Punjabi film with very good music. Watch it with your family in the cinemas. And stay healthy, stay away from drugs – fall in love as it’s a beautiful drug,” asserts Deep.
